CCEX

Commands below can be found under the CCEX à CCEX menu.

COMMAND DESCRIPTION HOW TO EXECUTE BUTTON SHORTCUT
Enable... Enables CCEX, automatic activities can run when enabled.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Enable…' command.
  3. Confirm the selection.
  4. If no error messages appear above operation was successful.

Disable... Disables all CCEX activities
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Disable…' command.
  3. Confirm the selection.
  4. If no error messages appear above operation was successful.

Configure... Runs MCED and Loads CCEX configuration parameters.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Configure…' command.
  3. Edit the CCEX parameters as per MCED procedures.
  4. Press the 'Save and Exit' button in MCED.
  5. Alternatively, press the 'Configure CCEX' button under the CCEX menus, then proceed with step 3 above.

View Event Log Spawns MCEV and Loads CCEX event log file.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'View Event Log' command. This spawns the MCEV event viewer with the CCEX current working log file loaded. If MCEV was running previously, you must first terminate MCEV.
  3. Alternatively, press the 'View Event Log' button under the CCEX menus. This spawns the MCEV event viewer with the CCEX current working log file loaded. If MCEV was running previously, you must first terminate MCEV.

  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'View Alarms' command. This spawns the MCEV event viewer with the CCEX current working log file loaded, displaying alarms. If MCEV was running previously, you must first terminate MCEV.

Acknowledge Alarms Acknowledges all CCEX alarms.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Acknowledge Alarms' command. This acknowledges all CCEX alarms.
  3. Alternatively, press the 'Acknowledge All Alarms' button under the CCEX menus. This acknowledges all CCEX alarms.

Archive Event Log File Archives event log file.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Archive Log File…' command.
  3. Press the 'OK' button to continue, or 'Cancel' to abort the procedure.
  4. Press the 'Yes' button if you wish the current working log file to be reset (i.e. emptied of all records) after archiving operation completes, or press 'No' if you do not want that file to be reset.
  5. Press the 'OK' button to start the procedure, or 'Cancel' to abort the procedure. NOTE: If you select the current working file to be rest, and the operation fails (e.g.: the target drive is full, or not available), the current working file is NOT reset.
  6. Successful command execution creates a file named CCEXYYYYMMDD.LOG where YYYY is the current year, MM the current month and DD the current day. The file is placed in the directory specified by the 'Log File Backup Directory' entry in the NTMC configuration file.

View Monitor Screen Opens the top level monitor window, shows overall system numbers and trends - of interest if global level capacitor control is being done.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'View Monitor Screen' command.
  3. Alternatively, press the 'View Monitor Screen' button under the CCEX menus.

Note: This command not available in one substation systems. See command below.

View Substation List Displays the list of on-line substations. If there is only one substation, this command opens the substation monitor window, and shows its numbers and trends.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.

Search for a Capacitor Searches global capacitor list for capacitor
  1. Display global capacitor list.
  2. Press the Search for a Capacitor button in the capacitor list window.
  3. Enter the sought capacitor id, or partial id.
  4. Select the OK button. If the capacitor is found, the list view shifts so the capacitor entry becomes visible.

Exit Terminates CCEX. This is usually done automatically by MCEX.
  1. In CCEX, select the 'CCEX' menu.
  2. Select the 'Exit…' command.
  3. Confirm your intention.
  4. Alternatively, to terminate CCEX only, bring the MCEX window to the foreground.
  5. Put the mouse cursor over the line in MCEX window displaying CCEX status.
  6. Click the right mouse button.
  7. Select 'Close'.
  8. Alternatively, to terminate CCEX together with the rest of NTMC system, simply terminate NTMC.

Substations

To display a substation window first display the substation list, then click on the substation of interest.

Commands below can be executed by first making a substation window the active window, then selecting commands under the CCEX à Substation menu.

Feeders

To display a feeder first display the substation which owns that feeder. Next display the feeder list by pressing the Substation Feeders button in the substation window. Finally, click on the feeder of interest to display the feeder window.

Commands below can be executed by first making a feeder window the active window, then selecting commands under the CCEX à Feeder menu.

Capacitors

To display global capacitor list (all on-line  capacitors), press the Global Capacitor List button under the CCEX menus.

To display substation capacitor list (capacitors owned by all substation feeders) first display the substation, then press the Substation Capacitors button in the substation window.

To display a feeder capacitors first display the substation which owns that feeder. Next display the feeder list by pressing the Substation Feeders button in the substation window. Then, click on the feeder of interest to display the feeder window. Finally, press the Feeder Capacitors button in the feeder window.

Each command below can be executed by 

  1. Either left clicking onto a capacitor in any of the above lists, then executing the command under the CCEX à Capacitor menu, and / or by
  2. Right clicking onto a capacitor and executing the command from the so generated context menu.

  5. Verify and modify if necessary the new capacitor RUEX mapping entries, i.e. domain, remote unit, and control point assignments.

Rename... Renames off-line capacitor bank, retaining all other attributes.

Schedules

To display the schedule list (all on-line  schedules), press the View Schedules button under the CCEX menus.

Each command below can be executed by 

  1. Either left clicking onto a schedule in schedule list, then executing the command under the CCEX à Schedule menu, and / or by
  2. Right clicking onto a schedule and executing the command from the so generated context menu.

Operator

Users must log on to every NTMC component before they can use it. Security commands are listed below.

COMMAND DESCRIPTION HOW TO EXECUTE BUTTON SHORTCUT
Log On... Logs on a user. If authenticated parts of the system consistent with user's privileges become available.
  1. Click on the Operator menu.
  2. Select Log On.
  3. Enter your username and click OK.
  4. Enter your password, and click OK.

Log Off Logs off the currently logged on user.

  2. Select Log Off.
