I/O Points

NTMC inputs and outputs data via I/O points. An I/O point must first be created, properly configured, then added to appropriate remote unit. I/O point can be deleted when no longer needed. One can also do RURDR - the latter is available for counters only, and NTMCRDR.

Procedures below describe these steps in the tables below. Some commands can be found under the RUEX à IOP menu, where IOP stands for STP for status points, CNT for counters, ANP for analog points, LCP for latching control points, MCP for momentary control points, and TCP for timed control points. Other commands can be found in context menus displayed by right-clicking on the I/O points themselves when the latter are displayed in remote unit windows.

Commands common to all I/O points:

Routes

Routes are used to communicate with remote units which are either too far from the master controller, or are otherwise inaccessible directly by the master controller. One must first define a route, program the route (this programs the route links to behave correctly), and finally program the remote units (this programs the route users so they know where to send their messages). A display elements is created by dragging it from Display Element Library to display panel window in design mode.  Display element can be moved about that window by dragging it with a mouse. It can also be resized with the mouse by dragging the element's edges in the usual fashion.

Once in the panel window, display element commands can be accessed by right clicking onto the display element.

Display element commands common to all display elements are listed below.

In addition to above, additional commands are available when right-clicking onto a display element when the latter (parent object) is mapped to either another display panel  or an I/O point (child object). In such cases, right-clicking onto a parent object not only displays the parent object commands, but also the corresponding child object commands.

For example, when display element representing a relay is mapped onto a control point, right-clicking onto the display element displays not only the available display element commands (table above), but also the available control point commands. Control point (relay) can thus be operated directly from the display panel.
