Meter Reading Executive
performs reading of
customers’ electric meters. The program automates the entire process, from
downloading meter data, to generating files which are used to generate customers
billing statements.. The sections below highlight some of the program’s
features.

Reading Meters
Three types of meter
reading are supported: Latest Data - retrieves latest readings from
specified meters, Billing Data - latest readings are downloaded and
stored in a separate database which can be used for exporting data for billing
purposes, and Downloaded Data - meter readings downloaded from remote
units capable of remote unit resident data recording (RURDR), and stored in NTMC
data recording files (see below). Any one of these activities can be started
with a simple push of a button, or automatically every day when scheduled by an
operator.
Demand Recording
When using RURDR
capable remote units, one can perform demand recording at every meter site. One can record, for
example, the amount of energy consumed (kWh) by the customer every 15 minutes.
The data can be downloaded periodically (usually scheduled once
a day), stored into standard data recording files, and analyzed by using MCDA
(see the MCDA brochure, and the window caption on the right). This data provides
not only detailed information such as time of day kWh usage and demand profiles.
It also helps generating time of day based billing rates, and aids the user in
various tasks such as rate analysis, true costs estimates, wholesale and retail
rates calculations, etc. Click on the thumbnail on the left to see a sample of
data downloaded from a customer meter. Use the browser's back button to get back
to this page.
Presentation
Meters are listed in
tabular form by meter id, meter number, account number, latest dial reading,
time and date of latest reading, status of latest reading by reading type (see
above), etc. Each table column can be sorted by clicking the table heading. One
can, for example, sort the meters by latest dial reading change and
instantaneously gather together all meters which are running. Every
meter can be inspected more closely by displaying its individual window (click
on the thumbnail on the left). All data can be printed at any time.
Data Exporting
Data can be exported
into files with spreadsheet format, or files custom formatted for billing
department needs.
